I never bothered to think about the rights of minorities or their issues before I met some of them outside Pakistan. I realized that they are quite bitter about how they are treated in Pakistan. Some of them discuss the discriminating attitude of Pakistanis towards them openly infront of foreigners which was quite embarrasing for me. Initially I thought they are biased but gradually I realized that there is strong injustice prevalant in Pakistani society against minorities. I will just write about one interesting observation, on Eid day we were standing outside the mosque. Sorry I forgot to tell you that I am currently in Austria. One of our friends said what do think these Austrians would be thinking about us since there are about 20 of us standing here and some of us are wearing Shalwar Kameez. The other friend said, Austrians must must be saying "Choroian Di Eid Hay" (its the Eid of sweapers). We all laughed yet it showed the kind of remarks we pass on the minorities on their festivals.
